Aspen Words is a longtime Aspen, Colorado non-profit and host of the annual Summer Words events, a juried workshop, a non-juried fiction workshop and a readers retreat held in Aspen each summer. To spread the word and build interest for the events as well as thank sponsors and donors, I design a poster, large postcard and newspaper and magazine ads for both print and digital editions. The year’s look is carried through all pieces and there’s an overarching event brand that changes somewhat from year to year to keep things fresh. Using an overarching brand from year to year builds recognition for the events while being a way for the organization to save money on the design. The few changes to the design add an individual spark to each year’s events.
